Advice and assistance with day-to-day HR and employment law issues
Be it on the phone, by email or face-to face, we provide all clients with a dedicated contact who knows their organisation and who can provide straightforward, specialist advice and support on the full spectrum of HR and employment issues that can arise on a day-to-day basis; from recruitment to absence management, discipline and grievance to family friendly rights, equality issues to references…and everything in between. As well as providing advice, we draft and review correspondence and documentation to help ensure our clients have all the support they need.
24/7/365 HR and legal advice helpline
Not all clients operate 9-to-5, Monday to Friday. We offer a 24/7/365 telephone helpline service to enable clients to contact an experienced employment solicitor for assistance with any tricky employment law/ HR issues which may arise, when they arise.
HR project support
All organisations at one time or another go through change which affects their staff. We provide clients with assistance with such HR projects including changes to terms and conditions, TUPE, restructure/redundancy projects and pay and grading reviews. We help clients to plan and implement their projects to help ensure both their strategic objectives and employment law requirements are met.
Employment law and HR training
We provide training and development sessions to our clients on topical HR issues to give managers the key skills to deal with common HR and employment law issues. These sessions are designed to provide straightforward and practical insights and tools to tackle HR/employment law related issues in the workplace efficiently and confidently.
Drafting and development of employment contracts, employee handbooks and HR policies
We offer clients a drafting and review service for all employment documentation including contracts, HR policies and employee handbooks. These are all drafted and tailored to the client’s requirements and reviewed regularly to ensure they stay fit for purpose and up to date with best practice and the changing requirements of employment legislation.
Employment Tribunal representation
Employment Tribunal claims are on the rise. We provide clients with all advice and representation in defending Employment Tribunal claims – from pre-claim ACAS conciliation, all case preparation and management, up to and including experienced and specialist representation at the Employment Tribunal hearing. Where necessary, we take a robust approach to representation, which we believe is borne out by the results we achieve for our clients.
We can also offer clients our Employer Protect indemnity insurance cover to help protect against the unexpected legal costs and/or awards which can arise in relation to Employment Tribunal litigation.
Dispute resolution and mediation
Sometimes a pragmatic resolution to a dispute is the preferred approach for our clients, in which case we can assist them in reaching an appropriate settlement and can partner with accredited mediators on behalf of our clients to achieve the best outcome.
Settlement Agreements
On occasion employers wish to reach an agreed exit with an employee. In such circumstances, we can advise clients in negotiating and agreeing matters (or do this on their behalf) and in drafting and completing the required settlement agreement documentation, protecting the client’s interests and achieving the desired result.
